And... we're back!

Been visiting my new niece down in Texas, but now we're back. Fastball Math has exceeded all of my other apps in terms of downloads - it seems people really want educational apps.

We also have a silly new app out called "Official Weirdness Test" - I made this app without a nib, just to do it. Take a look.

New app out

I have a new app out: Fastball Math. As always both lite and paid versions are available. It's been out for a few days now, and has seen better download numbers than my other two. I'm proud of it, but need to do a quick update - one of the images went missing from the final version of the paid. It doesn't interfere with gameplay, but the interface doesn't look as good.

For my next app, I'm releasing a weirdness test. That should be available by the end of next week.

What I'm doing

Today I'm finishing up a new app. It's a simple baseball themed math practice app. Hopefully it'll be approved within the week. After that I'm going to upgrade Puggle Quest and Pep Talk, and work on some OpenGL stuff. I'll get back to y'all soon with more details. Expect about four more apps (including the math one) by the end of March!

Illustrator

I'm working with Illustrator to create images for my next app. Art's not my strong point (as anyone who's seen Pep Talk understands), but I've gotten to where I can make simple images for UIKit games, and cool buttons and banners.

Hopefully I can post some of my designs up here after I submit the game, and get some feedback.

Oh yeah... and what I'm up to now

Right now I'm working on a kids app. It's a math flashcard game with a baseball theme. You're going to see a lot of apps with an education focus coming from me. This game is the first of several on tap.

Also, expect Puggle Quest Lite to get submitted soon (it's been ready for a few days now, but I've just been busy/lazy over the Superbowl weekend). And I'm going to be releasing an app that uses both Core Data and MapKit, all wrapped up with some tables. It's something I've thought would help me on a road trip I'll be taking, and I figure if it helps me then it'll help others too!

Puggle Quest is out!

Puggle Quest came out a few days back. I've sold several copies since then. It's a very simple game - right now I'm only taking on simple projects that help me apply what I'm learning about apps. Puggle Quest involves a little Puggle named Charlie who escaped from home. His three little boys put treats out in a park, and are trying to catch Charlie.

You have to help Charlie eat as many treats as possible before his boys catch him. Building this game taught me a lot about UIKit gaming, Illustrator, and Core Animation. It also required getting my toes wet with Open AL for the sound effects. All in all a good experience that built on what I learned with Pep Talk.

Speaking of which, expect Pep Talk Lite to be released in the next 24 hours or so (pending Apple's approval)! It's an ad supported version - here's hoping I get a few downloads leading to sales of the full version (and a few ad dollars to boot).
